| An accomplished veteran in the world of Big Band vocals, Cheryl Morris was very active in the Los Angeles scene for many years. She worked exclusively with various name artists from the legendary Big Band era, along with some of it's greatest leaders. In 1975, she began a 15 years career as a Big Band vocalist when Orin Tucker hired her as a vocalist. In 1979 she began an 11 year association with The Harry James Orchestra that included appearances throughout the United States and Canada and tours for several cruise lines. Cheryl appeared regularly at Disneyland Carnation Plaza where she entertained thousands. Other memorable orchestras Cheryl has performed with include the Tex Beneke Orchestra, the Ray McKinley Orchestra and the Home Saving of America Big Band, which for 10 years produced Fabulous Forties shows nationwide with original artists from the era itself. Cheryl is also an accomplished veteran of the stage (dance and theatre). She began her theatrical career at a young age as a dancer with Baker's Dance Company in Los Angeles, performing throughout southern California. Her theatrical work is extensive, and includes such shows as the off Broadway show "The Big Broadcast of 1944" where Cheryl was featured with the Harry James Orchestra. She adds to her theatrical credits; I remember Mama, Come Blow Your Horn, Sweet Charity, Funny Girl, and Brigadoon. |

| As Harry's last female vocalist before his passing, I was fortunate enough to sing with him for 3 years (and with his ghost band for many years.) I tribute his remarkable gift, plus his talent for finding great female vocalists. I also tribute many other big bands and female vocalists from Helen Forrest, to Doris Day, to Peggy Lee and many more. I can size my band to fit your budget. |
