Floyd & the Flyboys

 

FLOYD & the FLYBOYS is a nine piece* band whose line-up includes vocals/percussion, guitar/vocals, keyboards/vocals, bass/vocals,

drums, and a horn section consisting of trumpet, trombone, tenor/alto saxophones, and baritone sax (*the band also occasionally

works with smaller combos of 4 to 8 pieces).  The band’s repertoire spans seven decades, and includes a choice mix of classic

covers, rare gems, and great originals.

 

A list of band member credits reads like a Who’s Who of the music industry, including artists such as Ray Charles, Tower of Power, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Lyle Lovitt, Brian Setzer, The Eagles, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, The Four Tops, Elvin Bishop, Sting, The Coasters, Louis Jordan, Brothers Johnson, Chaka Kahn & Rufus, Buddy Miles, The Drifters, Lou Rawls, Buddy Rich, Johnny “Guitar” Watson, Don Henley, Narada Michael Walden, and many others.

 

Since its formation in 1990, FLOYD & the FLYBOYS has become a house favorite at countless night club and concert venues, delighted audiences at music festivals, fairs, private and corporate events, entertainment industry functions, charity benefits, etc.,

and has written and recorded music for numerous TV and film projects.

The band is unique in its ability to provide a number of different show formats to suit a given audience, venue, or event theme, all of which  are performed with energy, precision, and uncompromising stylistic authenticity.  Along with our Variety/Dance sampler (most popular format for private parties), we offer theme-specific MP3s, demo CDs, and play lists of our other formats, including  All R&B (Motown/soul/funk), Classic Rock 'n' Soul, All Blues, New Orleans Mardi Gras, R&B/ Blues, 1940’s Swing, Jazz Octet, and All Original.
