At the tender age of ten, this Brooklyn native Jay A, originally from Guyana was already spitting' and writing' rhymes. He began playing the acoustic drums, along with the keyboards, which accounts for his great taste in music and his already recognizable production skills. The first time he ever recorded, was in his friends' basement studio, and after recording a few songs he teamed up with Nexx Lev (co-worker), and together they built their own recording studio.

Studio 100 has blossomed over the years and has produced many new and upcoming artists. Studio 100 is located in Brooklyn and is quickly becoming on of Brooklyn’s most well respected recording and production studios.

Hip hop is drastically changing, and as an artist/producer Jay A has embrace that and is making music for all audiences. He mixes hip hop with pop, funk, house, techno, and reggae to create a sound that is befitting of his image. And his flow is like no other, his voice and is lyrical ability is out of this world like an alien. The game has a lot of new faces but non like Jay A, he's got the looks and the talent that is required to have a long and productive music career.   

Jay A is greatly influenced by artist like 2 Pac, Nas, Jay Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Pete Rock, Cl Smooth, Rakim, Common, and every hip hop lover on the face of the earth, Eddie Murphy, Denzel Washington, Will Smith and all the black actors and actresses and last but not least Barack Obama.

DECEMBER 16TH 2008.  This project is the beginning of a three part series. The album was produced, arranged and composed entirely by Jay A with engineering done by Jameson Reynolds of TMG records. The album also features up and coming artist like Nexx Lev and Shady. The album features tracks like "MAMA CRY", the hit single "MONEY ON MY MIND", "BROOKLYN" “MADE ME” and the bonus track “DO ME”.
